Latex-milk from the bark of the Rubber Tree is processed with
numerous steps and under careful control, to derive the binding
agent that holds the cork granulate of the Birkenstock insole
together. Latex makes the foot-bed durably elastic and extremely

topcoats to balance those differences - in this way the leather
remains open-pored and breathable.
