Urgotul is indicated for the local treatment of superficial
wounds (burns, dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, etc); chronic
wounds (leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, etc) in
the granulation and epithelialization phase; or wounds from
inherited epidermolysis bullosa.
When the hydrocolloid particles combine with wound secretions,
they liquefy and build a gel which, together with Urgotul's
vaseline, forms a lipidocolloidal barrier. This moist environment
helps the wound heal.
By virtue of its construction, Urgotul does not stick to the
wound and the wound's periphery. The dressing can be changed
painlessly without interrupting the healing process.
Special wound dressing
The dressing is very flexible and therefore especially suited
for treating difficult locations. Urgotul requires being covered
with a secondary bandage; for example, with a sterile compress that
can be fixed in place with an elastic bandage, a large-area,
stretchable adhesive plaster or with a tube bandage.
Base material is a TLC matrix of polyester fibers. Impregnated
with hydrocolloid (carboxymethylcellulose) and vaseline.
Typically used for dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, chronic wounds
