Amsterdam UMC Carnegie stage embryo models

The Amsterdam UMC set with six embryo models of the Carnegie stages presents the general development of the human organ systems during the first eight weeks of the embryonic period, from fertilization to the beginning of the fetal stage. Each 3D model is based on a specific specimen from the Carnegie collection and was created using real human embryos to ensure anatomical accuracy. The plastic models are sectioned in the sagittal plane and held together with small magnets. This allows detailed internal structures to be clearly visualized, offering an unmatched view of the different developmental phases. In addition, a reference block with scale-accurate embryo models encased in acrylic is included.
