Packable, active-agent-free compresses and dressing strips with high absorbency, made of soft calcium-alginate fibers which, in exchange with sodium salts of blood and secretions, transform into a hydrophilic, non-clogging gel and fill the wound; this way a tight wound contact and a micro-climate conducive to healing are achieved. Bacteria are locked into the gel's structure during transformation. For the treatment of deep, tight, and jagged wounds with medium to strong exudation.
