Tromboguard haemostatic dressing from matopat
Tromboguard by matopat is a sterile, haemostatic special dressing for first aid, trauma care and post-operative wound treatment. In addition to its haemostatic properties, it also has an antibacterial effect. The wound dressing consists of 3 layers: a hydrophilic polyurethane foam layer, which ensures a moist wound environment and is particularly absorbent due to is pore-in-pore structure, a semi-permeable polyurethane membrane, which protects the wound area and sensitive tissue, and a haemostatic active layer made of chitosan and alginic acid, which helps wound healing due to its special effectiveness. Thanks to the special active layer, haemostasis can occur in only 3 minutes.

Tromboguard: Mode of action, haemostasis and easy dressing change
Tromboguard offers effective haemostasis and easy dressing change. The unique mode of operation with chitosan and alginate effectively stops bleeding: the positively charged chitosan molecules react with the negatively charged blood cells on the wound surface and quickly form an adherent plug that closes the bleeding site. In addition, the calcium alginate contained in the dressing helps natural clot formation and enhances the haemostatic effect. The sodium alginate forms a gel layer when absorbing wound secretions, which enables painless dressing change.
