The VILIM ball by Vilimed is a portable physiotherapeutic device for the treatment of patients with essential tremor or Parkinson’s disease. The mechanical vibration therapy device is non-invasive and can be used both at home and in a professional setting to temporarily reduce tremor of the hands. Ten minutes of therapy can reduce hand tremor for a period of up to 4 hours and make daily life and everyday tasks easier for the patient. The effect can last from one minute to 4 hours, depending on the patient.

VILIM Ball: effective therapy to temporarily reduce hand tremors

The VILIM Ball has been developed to be used in private or professional settings as a therapeutic device to temporarily reduce tremor of the hands caused by essential tremor. The functioning principle of the VILIM ball is based on mechanical vibrations that influence the nerve and muscle tissue in the hand, which exchanges nerve signals with the cerebral cortex. The cerebral cortex controls the movements of the human body. The mechanical vibrations of the VILIM ball change the nerve signals transmitted between the cerebral cortex and the arm and suppress the trembling of the hand.
