The stainless-steel edition

The black edition
The black edition of the Littmann Cardiology IV is popular among doctors for its unique design. Its chest piece and ear tubes are as matte as the midnight sky. Beware: its looks might increase your patient’s heart rate a bit.

All Littmann stethoscopes contain nickel to prevent rust, just in case your practice is located in the rainforest or rain is seeping through the roof of your ambulance. The black edition’s stainless steel is completely coated in black paint, making it suitable for patients and practitioners suffering from allergies, too.

The single-piece diaphragm on both sides of the chest piece allows for maximum precision in the auscultation of children and adults. Littmann's unrivaled dual-frequency technology makes it easy to switch between high and low frequencies by varying the contact pressure without switching from the diaphragm to the bell. The small membrane can easily be replaced with a non-chill ring. This allows the pediatric side of the chest piece to be converted into an open bell.

The chest piece’s high-precision design is characterized by the audibility of difficult-to-hear sounds, for example in cases of aortic stenosis, ventricular gallop, and slight lung anomalies. Whether in intensive care or in difficult environments such as the emergency room, the ICU, or cardiology, the Cardiology IV does not miss even the most delicate heart and lung sounds.
