Abbott ID NOW™ PoC-NAT Device
Point-of-care molecular diagnostic testing system
ID NOW™ PoC-NAT Device by Abbott
Please note: The ID NOW by Abbott is exclusively delivered to pharmacies and medical professionals/institutions who are authorized to use medical products. Hospitals and clinics can only obtain the items via the manufacturer Abbott. Delivery to hospitals/clinics and home addresses is unfortunately not possible.
This ID NOW PoC-NAT device is an automatized tool for qualitative detection of infectious diseases such as SARS-CoV-2. This platform combines the simplicity of rapid tests with the quality of laboratory tests results. Results are available in just minutes and are just as reliable as PCR tests. The test result speed makes ID NOW particularly profitable while also helping manage patient data more efficiently. The small ID NOW instrument is particularly suitable for point-of-care testing in doctors' offices, emergency rooms and core laboratories.

PoC-NAT offers the reliability of a PCR test in the time of a rapid test
To be able to detect infectious diseases in a swab sample, one must amplify the relevant nucleic acids of the viruses. Unlike the time-consuming PCR tests (polymerase chain reaction), ID NOW amplifies them using an isothermal technology. In this procedure, the DNA or RNA components are broken down with enzymes at a constant temperature- The test results are then as reliable as laboratory tests. The molecular diagnostic method can detect pathogens as reliably as a PCR test.
For a simple and standardized test procedure, the instrument is operated with three-part test cassettes. No complicated pipetting!
There are assay tests for various pathogens, for example COVID-19, Influenza A & B 2, RSV and Streptococcus. The test base (orange) and the sample receiver (blue) are color-coded to match the slots in the sample compartment of the ID NOW. A white transfer cassette allows a hygienic handling of the contaminated swab without spilling the chemicals.
For even more safety, the color display shows the application steps as a graphic. The device independently carries out heating, mixing and detection procedures. This minimizes possible error and ensures reliable results. The workflows are so simple and safe that the training and familiarization time for healthcare professionals is minimal. This test method is therefore exempt from CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) quality standard requirements.
Delivery, installation and commissioning will be carried out by the manufacturer's qualified personnel, so please specify in the comments field when ordering a valid phone number for delivery.
EU digital COVID certificate approved
ID NOW's test results are recognized as evidence of presence of a negative SARS-CoV-2 infection and therefore approved for the EU's digital COVID certificate. The test uses isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology (NAT), as opposite to conventional rapid antigen tests.
Information on the billing of COVID-19 tests with the ID NOW™ rapid test platform can be obtained from the responsible health authorities or the respective health insurance company.

Cooles Teil. Kinderleichte Bedienung.
