Scales
Whether small or large, the EOS veterinary scale from KERN is suitable for weighing all furry patients. The practical additional programs make it possible, for example, to determine a correct measured value even if man's best friend does not keep still. By the integrated carrying handle and the flexible roles the large balance can be transported comfortably by the veterinary practice and - hospital. The increased weighing range of up to 150 kg even makes it possible in most cases to weigh the pet owner together with his protégé. Subsequently, the weight of the human can simply be calculated to determine the weight of the animal. And if there is no power outlet nearby, the EOS pet scale can also be used in battery mode. Product care Extra large animal scale with stainless steel plate Convenient 4-button operation With integrated carrying handle and two wheels for easy transport Choice of battery or mains operation Display unit can optionally be mounted on the wall Incl. non-slip rubber mat Material housing: plastic Material weighing plate: stainless steel Dimensions display unit: approx. W 90 x D 55 x H 6 cm Cable length: 270 cm Weight: 18,8 kg Functional range of the EOS veterinary scale from KERN For use in veterinary medicine, the EOS veterinary scale has several practical additional functions that make weighing animals a breeze. In the event that the energetic puppy is just restless on the scale, the integrated Dynamic Weighing function nevertheless enables a precise measurement result. For this purpose, an exact average value is calculated from several individual measurements. And if the cat prefers to remain on the arm, the tare function makes it easy to balance the weight of the master. To do this, the weight of the human is determined first, followed by the weight of the animal. The EOS veterinary scale then calculates the difference independently. The daily medical routine can be hectic. So that the measurement result does not have to be noted immediately, the data hold function allows the value to be frozen in the display. This allows medical staff to continue caring for the animal and document the determined value at a later time. To conserve battery power and for added convenience, the veterinary scale also features an auto-off function that allows the device to turn itself off after 3 minutes of inactivity. The MFB body composition monitor from KERN impresses with its elegant design and comprehensive analysis functions. The Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) enables a reliable body structure analysis conveniently at home. It uses a low-frequency alternating current to determine the percentage of body fat, body water, muscle mass and bone. Furthermore, the KERN MFB has practical additional functions for calculating calorie requirements and BMI. The maximum load capacity is 182 kg. Product details Flat scale for body analysis for non-medical use Analysis of body composition by Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) Calculation of individual calorie requirements (basal metabolic rate, activity metabolic rate, BMI) Easy to use - tap, set up and read 4 large contact areas for optimal conductivity Large, easy-to-read LC display Flat design and non-slip feet for comfortable step and secure hold Material: stainless steel and glass Dimensions: W 30 x D 30 x H 2.5 cm Weight: approx. 2 kg KERN MFB - Analysis in detail Body weight Body fat Body water Muscle mass Bone percentage The bioelectrical impedance analysis of the KERN MFB body analysis scale With the MFB body analysis scale, the determination of the body composition is done intuitively via the integrated contact surfaces of the weighing plate. For optimal measurement results and good conductivity during bioelectrical impedance analysis, it is necessary to stand barefoot and balanced on the metal contacts. The constant signal of the low-frequency alternating current then generates an electromagnetic field in the body. The partial resistances of the measured impedance then serve as the basis for the body structure analysis and are shown in percentages on the LC display. Technical details Analysis system: Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) Weighing system: Strain gauges Functions: Basal metabolic rate, activity metabolic rate, BMI Internal memory: 10 users Units of measurement: Kilogram, Pound (lb) Measurement accuracy: ± 0.5 % or ± 0.1 kg Weighing range: max. 182 kg Power supply: 2 button cells (type CR2032) Operating time: up to 100 hours Scope of delivery 1 KERN MFB body composition monitor 2 button cells Attention: In case of pregnancy and pacemaker as well as other life-supporting implanted systems a BIA is not recommended! Medical scales on the DocCheck store
Scales are medical devices used to determine the body mass, i.e. the weight of your patients. They are of great importance when measuring BMI, weight changes or other health problems and can also help to give hints about dieting to combat excessive weight changes. Medical scales are used in the medical field and are intended for professional use.
The large number of scales on the market, coupled with the increasingly sophisticated additional functions of the measuring instruments, makes it increasingly difficult to find the right medical weighing equipment. Would you like to order a digital or analog scale online? We recommend that you focus on the most important factors for your needs: What should be the maximum load capacity of your scale? How large should the weighing surface be? What type of display should your scale have? Do you want a column scale, a floor scale or a scale with an LCD display? Do you need a mechanical scale or an electronic scale?
On the DocCheck store you will find the most common models of medical scales in the medical field. Browse our wide range and order your new scale in just a few clicks.
Calibrated and non-calibrated scales
Calibrated scales are medical weighing devices that are highly accurate and are characterized by additional legal requirements. In the medical field, the calibration classes range from class I to class III. Scales with calibration class I and III can be approved directly by the manufacturer. In the case of calibration class II, the scales are calibrated by the competent calibration office. Calibration of the balance is required for the production of pharmaceutical, medical and laboratory products. If calibration is not performed, the accuracy of the balance may be affected and the weighing results falsified. This can result in truncated patient test results. However, an uncalibrated model can be used for simple weighing with a mechanical scale.
Analog and digital scales
The digital scale and the analog scale are two common models when it comes to measuring patient weight. Both types of scales have different types of displays, whether it is an LCD or an analog display. With the digital scale, also known as an electronic scale, you get a highly accurate body weight that can differ by up to 100 g from the weight displayed on the screen, depending on the model. With the analog or mechanical scale, the result is "approximate". The dial with fixed swivel pointer included in the scale is equipped with a graduated scale. Round weights, 10, 20, 30 kg, etc., are displayed in a large scale and additional information is presented in subdivisions corresponding to 1 kg intervals, similar to the scale of a ruler incremented by ten. Therefore, analog scales do not provide as accurate measurement results as electronic scales.
Baby scales
Baby scales are designed to be ergonomic and space-saving. The scale is easily transportable due to its light weight, making it ideal for midwives making home visits. Babies and newborns tend to be quite restless during the consultation. Strong shaking and kicking can cause the baby to topple over while on a normal scale. This is why the scale has a special weighing tray that secures the baby's position. This weighing tray is removable on many models for other uses. The maximum load capacity for these models is usually between 15 and 20 kg.
Weighing chairs and wheelchairs
During a traditional weight check, it is necessary that the patient is in a stable standing position during the weighing process. This cannot always be done with frail or disabled people. This makes the scale chairs an ideal solution for nursing homes, homes for the disabled, rehabilitation centers and busy doctors' offices. These scales have a maximum load capacity of up to 300 kg depending on the model. The wheelchair scale is a scale for patients who need a wheelchair for weighing or who even come with their own wheelchair. The wheelchair scale has an accessible ramp and is easy to use.
Scales for impedance analysis
Impedance analysis scales are reliable and flexible instruments. The extensive body mass measurement capability allows not only normal weight children and adults, but also obese patients to be weighed. Most of these scales have a maximum load capacity of between 200 and 300 kg.
Veterinary scales
Scales are also indispensable in veterinary medicine. Pets also need to be weighed regularly. Some of the animals being very light, the weight of this scale is displayed in 50g increments. The veterinary scale has a non-slip rubber mat as a weighing surface to allow animals to stand or sit safely while the animal's body weight is measured. A hold button provides a stable average so that the weight measurement results are not distorted when the animal moves.
