Blood Collection Systems
S-Monovette is a closed system for blood-withdrawal, and perfectly adapted to the patient or the condition of the vein, through use of the aspiration principle. The closed blood-withdrawal system, consisting of S-monovette and cannula, was decidedly evolved through four innovations. Therefore, blood-withdrawal is even more simplified, reliability increased, and risk of infections minimized. Proven system benefits, such as the screw-lid for prevention of the aerosol effect, the gradation as optical volume-control, and break-proofing, are additional, important characteristics of the S-Monovette. Soft aspiration-technique has obvious advantages, especially with difficult vein-conditions, such as is often found in podiatry, geriatrics or oncology. The BD Vacutainer disposable holders make diagnostics for venous blood safe and practical. With the help of the Vacutainer blood collection system, it is possible to fill different pre-prepared sample tubes for different parameters directly one after the other, which saves time in preanalytics and is convenient for your patients. Product details Accessories for the BD Vacutainer blood collection system Holder for BD Vacutainer cannulas and blood collection sets Disposable plastic holder for tubes with ⌀ 13 and 16 mm diameter For BD Bactec blood culture bottles For patient-friendly, rapid blood collection Easy handling Hygienic disposable product Vacutainer Blood Collection System - The Details The BD Vacutainer blood collection system enables the collection of venous blood samples with a single puncture directly into closed tubes, which are prepared with an appropriate additive depending on the examination parameters. Easy patient-friendly use and maximum safety without blood contact for the user make the Vacutainer system an indispensable aid in preanalytics. Sources of error are minimized by the standardized collection conditions. The Vacutainer disposable holder is screwed to a Vacutainer cannula or blood collection set. After venipuncture, several Vacutainer test tubes can be filled by sliding them into the holder one after the other. In the process, the cannula in the safety valve pierces the rubber stopper of the Vacutainer. The precisely dosed vacuum of the sample tube gently draws in the blood and the Vacutainer automatically fills to the correct volume. The Vacutainer tube can be removed from the disposable holder without rotation. Due to the integrated valve on the Vacutainer tubes, no blood leaks out when the tube is changed. The Vacutainer Luer attachment for the BD blood collection system is a reliable product that stands for special safety when collecting venous blood. Professional blood sampling with the blood collection system
Whether it's a blood count or a blood gas analysis - for blood sampling you need the right blood sampling equipment. In this category, we have put together a wide range of blood collection systems and accessories from leading manufacturers such as Sarstedt, Vacutainer or MediPac.
You can find the complete range of blood collection equipment in the DocCheck store.
First of all: what is a blood test?
At its most basic level, blood sampling is simple: you insert a needle into the patient's arm or hand and draw blood. However, there are several factors that can complicate matters and increase the risk of drawing blood samples incorrectly. Fasting blood is often recommended for medical checkups to avoid false positive results. Fasting does not interfere with the interpretation of the results.
Blood samples may be taken for a variety of reasons. Blood tests are very common in clinics, hospitals and doctors' offices around the world. Doctors routinely use blood samples to determine if something is wrong and what treatment to prescribe. A blood draw is indicative of the state of the patient's immune system.
Stopper tubes for blood analysis
For the collection and processing of blood samples, you will need a stopper tube. Basically, there are two different types of systems, which take samples either by aspiration (e.g. Monovettes) or by depressurization (e.g. Vacutainer).
The S-Monovettes from Sarstedt are a particularly popular blood sampling system, which integrates both sampling techniques. Depending on the desired form of analysis and the relevant parameters, the S-Monovettes for blood sampling are prepared with different additives for slowing down the coagulation of blood. In addition, the tubes are color-coded to prevent mishandling.
In the DocCheck store you will find a large selection of blood collection devices: whether white monovettes for serum production, red-coded ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) monovettes for hematology, citrate monovettes for coagulation analysis (green) or tubes with heparin for blood plasma production (orange) - we offer monovettes in packs of 50 pieces.
We offer sedimentation tubes with Sarstedt citrate for the determination of blood sedimentation rate without decanting the sample. The micro sampling tubes (microvettes) are a three-part blood sampling system with which the blood sedimentation of a capillary blood sample can be determined.
Sedimentation Pipette Racks
The racks allow an accurate and hygienic measurement of the blood sedimentation rate. The S-Sedivettes are simply placed on the holder, which is equipped with a scale for reading the sedimentation values. Blood sampling requires this type of equipment.
A Butterfly for blood vessels
Because the shape of the sedimentation cannulas resembles that of a butterfly, these blood collection systems are also called "Butterfly". The folded wings are used for a safe and precise puncture. The puncture is virtually painless for the patient thanks to the particularly small puncture site.
