Medicoplast Redon Drain

Drainages are used to channel secretions, blood and pus from wounds, body- or abscess openings. Most drainages are attached as preventive measures (blood drainage), others have therapeutic objectives (discharge drainage from abscesses).

for closed Redon suction drainage with uncontrolled suction. The Redon drainage has to be removed after one to two days, in order to reduce the danger of infection (unless substantial amounts of fluids are being conveyed).

How to apply
With a Redon trocar, push the plastic drain through the skin next to the wound and fix it in place with a stitch. Remove the trocar and connect a suction bottle.

Attention: be sure to control the vacuum in the suction bottle before opening it.
