Defibrillator with audiovisual guidance

According to the 2010 guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), a successful defibrillation can only be administered when a high-quality cardiac massage is performed too. This high-quality massage has to have the appropriate depth and frequency. Many people are scared of not being able to fulfill these requirements and shy away from administering cardiac massages. With its CPR technology, the AED Plus is therefore the right choice and offers the necessary support.

With a good cardiac massage, the heart’s rhythm can be restored so that a subsequent shock could be administered. After an administered shock, the cardiac massage also helps to supply the heart with blood and to return to its natural rhythm. A good cardiac massage requires a compression depth of at least 5 - 6 cm and should reach a frequency of at least 100 compressions/minute. In order to eliminate uncertainties about whether these requirements are met, the Real CPR Help technology of AED Plus provides feedback about whether the administered compressions are deep and frequent enough.

The CPR-D-padz electrode has an electrode sensor via which the AED Plus can recognize chest compressions and their depth and frequency. Audiovisual information about the quality of the compressions is provided in real time. A continuously moving bar on the display shows the compression depth. In order to maintain the rhythm, the integrated metronome guides the user to the recommended frequency of at least 100/minute.

The additional equipment of AED Plus also supports the user in being a better first responder in emergency situations: The one-piece CPR-D-padz electrode can be applied quickly and easily. Additionally, a first aid kit is attached to it which includes further first aid equipment. The device’s case lid serves as a passive support for the user and keeps the patient’s airways free.

To ensure that the AED Plus is always ready for use, the battery life is displayed with a red X. If this X is displayed, approx. 9 shocks remain and new batteries should be put in as soon as possible.
