The instrument’s base is made of polymer, a material that feels relatively warm at room temperature. The head has a metal alloy coat which feels cold to the touch thanks to its physical properties. The combination of different thermal conductivities enables reliable early detection of distal symmetric polyneuropathy during a diagnostic examination.
