Reliable monkeypox diagnosis in minutes

To obtain a meaningful result, the monkeypox rapid test uses colloidal gold immunochromatography paired with an antibody sandwich principle. To perform, a swab of the exudate or oral pharynx is taken with the swab and mixed with the test tube fluid for 30 seconds. Then 3 drops of the test liquid are added to the sample well of the test cassette. The sample is chromatographed under the capillary effect and the result can be seen after 10 minutes. If monkeypox virus antigens could be detected in the patient's sample, 2 red lines can be read.
