Abbott Determine HIV Early Detect Test

The Abbott Determine HIV Early Detect Test is a 4th-generation point-of-care test that improves the early detection of acute HIV infection in adults and children from 18 months of age. As a professional in vitro test, it detects HIV antigen (Ag) and antibody (Ab) with 100 % sensitivity. Especially during the acute phase of infection, the transmission risk is highest. Therefore, timely diagnosis of acute HIV infection leads to rapid therapy initiation and better treatment outcomes. The strip test can be performed using capillary or venous whole blood, as well as serum or plasma. Results can be visually interpreted after just 20 minutes. The control field provides assurance when interpreting results.
