Description

Supramid suture material by B. Braun

The non-absorbable B. Braun Supramid is a synthetic suture material made of black polyamide. From thickness USP 4/0 (EP 1.5), the suture structure is pseudomonofilament. A polyfilament thread core made of polyamide 6.6 and a sheath made of polyamide 6 enable the best handling properties. In thicknesses USP 5/0 (EP 1.5) and USP 6/0 (EP 0.7), Supramid is a single filament made of polyamide 6. In all thicknesses, the thread has a smooth surface and enables a fine pull-through without a sawing effect. The smooth threads are easy to remove and are particularly suitable for skin closure. The suture material is available as a ready-to-use needle and thread combination in various needle and thread sizes.
